Cold Chain Project

|

The TopDown team consists of five Industrial Design students who are in the last stage of their study. They go to Bangalore, India for the Joint Master Project in collaboration with Enviu. The goal is to develop a cooling product and a corresponding exploitation to help farmers which encounter problems with cooling their products.

At this moment, India is after China the biggest producer of agricultural products in the world. However, 30 percent of this harvest goes to waste. The high temperature in the country is to blame for a part of this loss.Cooling of the products can solve this problem.

Unfortunately, 30 percent of the people on the countryside has no access to electricity. The Cold Chain project of the Enviu foundation tries to improve the storage and transportation capacities by creating a cooling box system. Apart from the technical design, also the way the box will be presented to the farmers will be investigated.
