We arrived in Male on the 6th and 7th of November. That week we had several meetings with the Maldivian National University (MNU), which Resilient Island also attended. These meetings were all successful, and we managed to establish both good contact and a shared goal. The Dean and the purchased all the materials to build the various components and had the ones not available in finalized the construction of the first flush system, are halfway done with the sediment tank, and have found a way to attach the whole system to the greenhouse and ensure agriculture professors showed a great deal of interest in collaboration and for the future scope of the project.
On Gan Laamu we have been working at MNU campus. First, we took measurements of the greenhouse and adjusted our design accordingly. We bought all of the materials to build the different components and had the ones not available on Gan shipped in from Male. We have finalised the construction of the first flush system, are halfway done with the sediment tank, and have found a way to attach the whole system to the greenhouse and make sure it's supported. In addition to the arrival of materials from Male, we acquired further materials to construct the connection between our sediment tank and our storage tank. We have also conducted several interviews with local stakeholders.
