Over the past period, the first steps of the project have been realized. Two participatory sessions were organized to collectively explore how people relate to nature and the ocean. Materials such as post-its and markers were purchased to support these sessions.
Based on the outcomes of these sessions, a booklet was developed and 60 copies were printed. The booklet was presented at the Coral Connect conference, where it was received very positively. There was strong interest from NGOs, government institutions, and professionals working on ocean-related topics, with many requests for additional copies to share with colleagues.
In parallel, work has started on a curriculum adaptation for a course focused on relating to nature. Research is currently being conducted into how this course can fit within the Lombok school system, through interviews and observations. A testing phase will begin soon. In the coming period, discussions with the provincial government will take place to explore potential implementation of this curriculum adaptation in Lombok.
