Circular Waste Management in Kuta, Lombok
We are Sander, Marie, Mathijs, Floris, Maaike, and Tom. Over the next ten weeks, we are dedicated to tackling the waste crisis in Kuta, Lombok. Globally, Indonesia ranks among the largest sources of mismanaged plastic waste and marine pollution. In collaboration with the local social enterprise Honest Made, we are analyzing and strengthening the entire waste value chain.
Honest Made focuses on building a local circular system: from collection and sorting to processing and repurposing plastic and glass. We support them on two distinct levels: first, through a strategic, long-term perspective on business operations, value chain collaboration, and systemic change regarding plastic and glass use. Second, by designing and realizing concrete, tangible product interventions within specific waste streams. In doing so, we contribute to a scalable model for Honest Made and a cleaner, healthier living environment on Lombok.
