Hi there!
We are an MDP team from Delft working on our Multi-Disciplinary Project in the inland region of Suriname. On behalf of the local authorities of the Aukan tribe, we are conducting research into the development of a water-resilient campus in the village of Diitabiki (Drietabbetje), located in the Tapanahony region.
Our research focuses on the current state of both water quality and flood risk. We continuously observe and learn how the local community deals with the challenges of both depending heavily on the river while also facing floods, erosion, and polluted water. By analyzing the existing systems, we aim to explore how they can be improved, adapted, or expanded to support the future campus.
