UPDATE II: Solar Incubator Benin

In our previous update, we shared that we had completed the basic construction of the incubator and started testing all technical components together with the students. Since then, we have taken the next important step in the project.

The incubator is now fully finished and working. All main components are connected and functioning together as one system. After completing the setup, the first fertilized eggs were carefully placed inside the incubator.

Shortly after this, the situation in Benin changed due to a military coup, which meant that we could no longer stay there. Because of this, we are currently not physically present in Djougou.

Even though we are no longer there in person, the project is still moving forward. Our local supervisors and teachers at the Lycée Technique Agricole de Djougou are now responsible for the daily operation of the incubator. They monitor the temperature and humidity and keep track of the incubation process.

We stay closely connected through regular communication, photos, and updates, which allows us to continue supporting the project from a distance. This situation has shown the importance of working together with strong local partners and ensuring that knowledge is shared and owned locally.
