S4S Symposium 2018: “What’s shaping the journey to a sustainable future?”

I n May 2018, S4S organized her second symposium. the symposium was themed: ''What's shaping the path to a sustainable future?''. We found out more about the hidden forces pushing and pulling the debate, about the secret infrastructure upon which public sentiment and morale travel, about the decisions that are made before their problems are even recognized. What is the power balance between well-willing politicians and industrial lobbyists? How does a large newspaper produce content that people enjoy reading, while still remaining sincere and unbiased? Can anything really be inherently ‘sustainable’? During this evening, the following speakers were present:

Marianne Thieme  - politician and -runner PvdD
Klaas van Egmond - Professor of Sustainability and Environment at Utrecht University
Babette Porcelijn - auteur of the book: ''hidden impact''
Piet Sprengers - Head sustainability ASN Bank
