GoCargo! | Great progress

Jambo! Habari?
You cannot start the day here in Kenya without greeting everyone and asking how they are doing. In our last update we have described how we have travelled back to Kenya and started with the fieldwork. As prepared as possible we went to the streets and spoke with a lot of people that were struggling with cargo. Despite our preparations things went a lot different than we assumed. Communicating and understanding each other with a different culture was a bit harder than expected but after a few days we got the hang of it and collected a lot of useful information.

Not only have we spoken to random people on the streets, we have also visited some women groups. These groups have united to save money together for buying seeds our paying school fees. It is amazing to see how they work together for better businesses and living conditions.

Our goal is to have the first prototype ready at the end of this week. This weekend there is an event at Bikeventures (part of CooP-Kenya), which will be a great opportunity to expose our prototype for the first time. If the prototype is finished on time we will be able to test it the week before Christmas. We have collected a lot of contacts during the market research so it will be easy to get in touch with our target group to let them test the design. We will keep you posted about the progress of the prototype and how the entrepreneurs of Kisumu react to it!
